Ini file custom sort order and comments

Mon Feb 15, 2016 5:30 pm

Hi

First, I would like to create a custom sort order for the ini file entries.
Not only in the view. It should be in the output ini file which is installed.

Second, it would be nice to add comments in theini file without define a key and a value and the "=" in the editor.

With this sort order feature we can create comments to a specific ini file entry.

Thank you

Daniel

Hello,

Currently our INI file support uses the default Windows Installer support for INI file installation and the INI entries and sections are installed in a random way by Windows Installer. We've added your suggestions on our TODO list and maybe they will be considered in a future version of Advanced Installer. Thank you for your suggestions.

All the best,
Daniel

Hello,

Unfortunately not. Due to the design of Windows Installer support we use, it will be quite a challenge to improve this behavior. Thus it is very unlikely to add such an improvement in the future.

Thank you for your understanding.

All the best,
Daniel
