Extended Validation (EV) Certificates

We are looking to switch to using an EV certificate (with USB dongle) to sign our products, could you confirm if AI supports signing with this type of certificate?

Many thanks.

Re: Extended Validation (EV) Certificates

Hello,

Yes, you should be able to sign the setup packages with EV certificates using Advanced Installer without any problem.

If you have any questions just let us know.

All the best,

Re: Extended Validation (EV) Certificates

Just a quick update, our USB token arrived today and the certificate appeared in the drop-down in Advanced Installer so just selected it and all seems to be working perfectly. Does seem to take much longer than the previous signing from a .pfx file but I guess that's just the nature of how the token based certificates work.

Many thanks.

Re: Extended Validation (EV) Certificates

Thank you for your follow up.

In what regards the signing time, I'm not sure about this, but I assume this is indeed related with how the token based certificates work.

Check the How to use the USB eToken for Extended Validation Code Signing in Advanced Installer article that will guide you step by step to use an USB eToken for an EV Code Signing Certificate.

All the best,
Daniel
