Folder had been blocked by the 1 mask argument (the folder pair's iSwapAttrib member = 0).

Hello Sir,

We are facing an issue with upgrade process in our product, Installation was success but some of the files were not installed properly. This happened in Windows7 64 bit OS, installation was done with Admin privileges. New files were shipped successfully. Instead of older database upgrade new database was replaced after upgrade.

Below is the error we got in installation logs.

Line 4980: 1: {764981D1-5CAA-4B41-BBC0-2175B9194710} 2: {9316C656-A42D-41FF-B871-B971E5BCDE87} 3: C:\Program Files (x86)\CurrentWare\cwServer\CWNPFB.CWD

Hello,

This may happen if the related files (not being installed) have a lower file version in the new setup package that their pair files in the old setup package. Take a look on "DLL file disappears during an upgrade" thread for more details.

If this is of no help to you then please send us the .AIP (project file) and a verbose log of the installation to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate them. Also, please try to give us more details about what is wrong with the deployed files after installation.

All the best,
Daniel

We're seeing this but not in an upgrade situation. We're seeing it when trying to register any of our components (which have been working for years).

MSI (s) (44:C4) [08:59:40:186]: Executing op: ComponentRegister(ComponentId={A3FE3D74-896D-4DB0-9CF5-5FB80078B9AB},KeyPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Cicero Inc\CIC\Bin\CIFRes.exe,State=3,,Disk=1,SharedDllRefCount=0,BinaryType=0)

MSI (s) (44:C4) [08:59:40:202]: WIN64DUALFOLDERS: Substitution in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Cicero Inc\CIC\Bin\CIFRes.exe' folder had been blocked by the 1 mask argument (the folder pair's iSwapAttrib member = 0).

Any ideas?

Hello Scott,

Do you get any installation issues? I am asking you because this log portion is a common one and it cannot be associated with an installation issue.

If you do have an installation issue please give us more details and maybe send us a full log of the installation process.

All the best,
Daniel

Daniel, I look further in the log file. The net effect is that our lead engineer had to manually register some components to get our product to work, so that's why we were focused on that message.

Hello Scott,

Can you please send us the .AIP (project file) and a verbose log of the installation to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate them?

Also, please give us more details about the related components which do not register properly.
