Adding large number of files to folder

When I tried to add a large number of files (roughly 625 files) to an application folder, AI took an incredibly long time to accomplish the task. In fact, it seems to be hung (I'm writing this while it is doing its magic.)

Is this a known problem? When I first started the process of adding the files, I could see the ListView refreshing itself over and over, slower and slower via changes in the scroll bar size. The actual contents weren't drawn. Eventually, it just seemed to hang.

If there is a work-around for this, that would be great.

Thanks,
Brian

Hi,

You are right, looks like a bug.

The FileView is refreshing itself after every file is added to the project. So if you add 625 files it will refresh 625 times and this is why it is taking so long to accomplish the task.

We will improve the way the files are loaded in a future release.

A possible solution for the problem would be not to add the files to the project, but to add the folder that contains them.

All the best,

Unfortunately, the folder that I wanted to add contains both debug and release versions of my application, so I cannot add the entire contents of the folder. Instead of adding the large number of files, I would have to remove a large number of files (i.e. the debug versions).

Looking forward to the fix. :D

Thanks,
Brian
