Hi,

when creating "Single Exe Setup (Internal Resources)" with the "Do not delete extracted MSI and CAB files" option, the extracted files are still deleted.

Indeed I can confirm you this is an Advanced Installer issue occurred in our latest version of Advanced Installer (13.5). A fix will be available in our next version of Advanced Installer (13.6). We will update this thread as soon as the fix will be available.

I know this is an old thread
and was fixed

but i am having the same issue with v 18,19,20

currently on 20.4.1

I dont even see the option to "not delete the files"
currently my only workaround is to have 2 builds 1 for MSI and one for EXE
this results in double the build time

how can we get both the MSI and the EXE?

Hello,

As already explained in the other thread, that is the only solution.

The "Do not delete extracted MSI and CAB files" is an option form "Builds" page and that is available at install time, when the MSI and CAB file are extracted by the bootstrapper.

The option is mostly useful if you want to create patches to avoid some limitations.
