Error WriteRegistryValues if select "Only for me" option

Sat Jun 04, 2022 5:06 am

Hi,

I just updated the app to 19.5, and having this error but it didn't happen in version 19.1.

My MSI installer is having error during installation: WriteRegistryValues.
It does not trigger the UAC popup in the "Ready to Install" if I choose "Only for me" option in the "Installation type" step.

Hello,

Thank you for the provided resources.

Unfortunately, I can not say for sure why this is happening.

Please allow me some more time to further investigate this and as soon as I will have more information, I will update this thread.

Best regards,
Catalin

Hi, any update on this?
I tried the latest version 20.4.1 on Windows 11 22H2, but the issue still persists! I have to use v19.1.

Hello Phap,

First of all, please accept my apologies for this. I seem to somehow have overlooked this and forgot to followup.

The enountered behavior here is due to the "Default program" which you have added in the "File Association" page.

Please keep in mind that the default program configured in Advanced Installer will be always installed under the per-machine context only. So, during a per-user installation the install process will fail.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
