Advanced installer VS extension stops working after the last update

Hi there,

I cannot open an old solution with installer projects and can't create the new using Visual Studio templates.

Hello,

if possible, could you please send me a screenshot with the extension version?

I have tried reproducing this on my end, but it looks like everything is working as expected.

Here is my version info.
VS 17.8.2
AI extension 21.2.
I've tried to uninstall and re-install extensions from the marketplace and downloading from this website with the same result.

It is only related to the extension. All new or existing projects work well if it is opened directly in the Advanced Installer.

Hello,

I have run some tets on my end and it looks like everything is working just fine - I can create a new project with the latest update of VS and same with our VS extension.

The only difference would be the version of VS, which in your case is the previous one (17.8.2 instead of 17.8.3).

Could you please update your VS and let me know if it helps?

It is incompatibility with something installed on my computer, because I found that on the work laptop with the same versions everything works well.
It would be great if you could give me a hint where the error logs are located if any, otherwise this case could be closed.

Sorry for the delayed reply.

The Visual Studio log file should be located in the following path:

"C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\VisualStudio\[version]\ActivityLog.xml"
