JRE not detected on 64 bit windows 7

Hi,

I am having a problem with AI not detecting the installed JRE on 64-bit windows 7 (see attached screenshot). A 32-bit build works fine. Both the java exe launcher and the install package do not detect the JRE. I had to remove the JRE prerequisite to get the package to install. If I select the location of the installed JRE the application still does not launch. The splash window remains on the screen and nothing more happens.

Is there something I am missing here?

Thanks,
Mark

Re: JRE not detected on 64 bit windows 7

Hello,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Please make sure your java product is marked as a 64bit application.

The JRE prerequisite detection problem appears to be occurring when using a feature-based prerequisite. In the mean time you can use the global prerequisite option.
Go to the "Edit Prerequisite" dialog, navigate to the Options tab and select the "Global prerequisite installs before main MSI package" option. Also, when attempting to detect a 64bit Java installation, make sure "64bit" checkbox is checked on the prerequisite's "Properties" tab.

We have added a fix for this issue on our TODO list, it will be available in a future version of Advanced Installer.

Best regards,
Gabriel
