Issue with Surface theme on MSP patch

Fri Sep 14, 2012 1:35 pm

When I create a patch using 2 MSI installers, using Surface theme, the patch also uses the theme.
The only problem there is that when you press the install button, nothing happens.

If I run the patch in DOS with /passive command, it installs the patch no problem.

Windows 7 x64

Any ideas? (See image)

Hello,

This seems to be an Advanced Installer issue. A fix will be available in a future version of Advanced Installer, thank you for bringing it to our attention.

All the best,
Daniel

Hi,

The Surface theme was never designed to be supported without Enhanced UI. The issue here is actually that msi patches are not yet supported by Enhanced UI, so the Surface theme gets launched without Enhanced UI.
I have added an improvement on our TODO list to support this. In the meantime, if you really need patches, we recommend using another theme that works without Enhanced UI.

Best regards,
Eddie
