"Do Not Overwrite Existing File" Disabled In Merge Module

In my merge module any file I check properties on it's operation "Do Not Overwrite Existing File" is disabled (greyed out).

I'm afraid this is the default behavior. Our merge module projects don't have support for this option. We'll consider your suggestion for adding this functionality, but since yours is the only request, implementing it has very low priority. Perhaps in the future we will increase its priority, but for the moment there are not immediate plans.

Found this request from a Google search, but I'd also like to be able to set this in a merge module.

I'm trying to replace two separate installers (which I've bundled to run as only one), but in my setup structure, certain files from the "base" module must never be overwritten if they already exist.. So, if this is still open for discussion, I'd love to be able to set this.

I'm afraid there is no update for your request.

As a workaround you can try to enable the "Never Overwrite" option for the component under which the related file is added and see if works for your scenario.
