SQL 2005 64 Error when building package

Hi,
I am testing new features with the AI 11.0 version today.

I had been using AI 9.8, and whenever I build a package the first time after AI was startet, I receive the errors in the attachments (if I remember correctly, it also happen the past few AI versions).
If I build again without closing AI, no error. If I closer AI and build the package, the error happens again.

This seemed never to affect the packae itself, and the packages always installed without problems.

I just figured it was some internal AI settings being saved, and thought it would be corrected in a later version.

But, it still happens in AI 11.0.

-SQL Server otherwise runs properly on my system.

I have attached some JPGs showing the error messages.

Error writing to the file: Access denied

If you need, I can mail you screenshots of my System info, SQL Server-Info dialog, and the Windows Services started, and also send the exported Event Protocol entries.

Thank you,

Re: SQL 2005 64 Error when building package

Hello Clint,

I'm not sure why this happens. This could happen if the project output folder is opened in Windows Explorer while building your project or if you don't have write permissions on project build output location. However, in order to be able to investigate further this issue it would be useful if you could isolate the behavior in a sample and send it us alongside a step by step test case scenario to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can test and investigate this. Also, can you tell us what is your target machine software configuration (OS version, service pack level, OS language, Windows Installer version, etc.)?

All the best,
Daniel

Re: SQL 2005 64 Error when building package

Hello Daniel,

I don't know why I didn't think of it before:
The the problem seems to be solved now: I started AI once using Admin priviledge,s and then opened and created a package.

Now when I openen the AI project file in Explore, without first starting AI with Admin priviledges, and then build the project, the error doesn't happen any longer.

Thank you and best regards,
