Problem opening MSI with AI

Hi,

AI v.11.0 and 11.6

I have a large project with includes the Crystal Reports 11 R2 SP6 Runtime, License and ReportEngine Merge packages.

Everything works fine with the installation and my application (for years, no problems, and still none)

However, when I try to open the MSI with AI, I get an error. I traced this down to the CR Merge files.

Also, when I try to open them in my MSI project, ("Explore in Advanced Installer), I get the errors.

I was wondering if you would take a look at them as how to correct them, as there are no new updates forth coming for this CR version?
I am not sure if the error is caused by AI, or is actually faulty merge files (though, the installations and program have always worked with this).

The AI reported errors are:

ReportEngine.msm: "A row with this key [NotesDir_1] was already registered in this table"

AI Send Error Report dialog
[EXCEPTION_UNHANDLED] (0xc0000005) at address [0x078127b8]

Advanced Installer 11.0 build 55831
*** Stack Trace (x86) ***

[0x078127b8] -----
[0x0055e0cc] -----
[0x0055e039] -----
[0x00340000] MODULE_BASE_ADDRESS

And with License.msm comes the error: "Unable to find row with id: 'CallCustAct.....' in table: Binary"

(The two merge files are 51 mb and the MSI size is 72mb, and with external files placed next to the MSI, a total of 132mb)

I saw this:
http://www.advancedinstaller.com/forums ... =2&t=26537

But I have no problem working with the AIP, and the string is not found there, when opened with an editor.

Re: Problem opening MSI with AI

Hi Clint,

I'm not sure why you encountered the this behavior.
In order to have a better view about this, can you please send us a download link for the .MSI file and the merge module files to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate this? If it contains confidential information you can send us a small test project which reproduce this behavior.

Best regards,
Dan

Re: Problem opening MSI with AI

Thank you Dan.

An Email to you with file download link for a simple test project (AIP, MSI and CR Mergemodules) should be there now.

Best regards,

Clint
