Cannot remove updater?

Hello,

I am trying uncheck the Check for updates using Advanced Installer option in the Updater pane. But I get the following messages,





I get the same message when trying to remove the updater.exe.

How to remove it?

Can you please send us the .AIP (project file) to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate?

Also, if you could isolate the behavior in a new project or in a step by step test case this would be very useful for us.

Thanks for your reply. I had another version of the same AIP file. When I removed in that it got removed. I'll also send the AIP file with the issue to the support team via email.

It seems this happens because you have enabled the "Make file companion of" option -> "APPDIR\Updater.exe" for two of your files added in "Application Folder" directory.

In order to avoid the related behavior you should go to "Files and Folders" page and remove the "APPDIR\Updater.exe" reference added on "File Properties -> Version tab" of the related files.

Also, it seems there is an Advanced Installer issue in accurately detecting the correct Updater references which don't allow you to uncheck the "Check for updates using Advanced Updater" option in the "Updater" page. A fix will be added in a future version of Advanced Installer, thank you for bringing this to our attention. We'll update this thread when the fix will be out.
