Please note that during an uninstall, Windows Installer removes only the data registered into the MSI file. All other data created by custom actions, by the installed application or by the user is not registered in the MSI, therefore it will not be removed.
If you want to also delete this data, you can use the "Uninstall Cleanup" wizard feature to remove any redundant files or folder. On the Files and Folders page, simply right click the folder that needs to be cleaned up upon uninstall and click “Uninstall Cleanup". The “Wizard” will guide you through the rest of the process.
The files were created by the MSI Installer. I realized that all files left are XML files. But though they are explicitly marked for uninstallation, they stay...
I'm not sure why you encountered the this behavior.
In order to have a better view about this, can you please send us the .AIP (project file) and a verbose log of the uninstall process to support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can investigate it? If it contains confidential information you can send us a small test project which reproduce this behavior.
I realized that I marked all XML files as such when importing the JBoss folder. This was not necessary as I did not need to change them during the installation. After I imported all files as "normal" files instead of XML files the uninstallation worked as expected.
Just in case you have encountered or if you will encounter any difficulties in implementing your installation scenarios with Advanced Installer, let us know and we will gladly assist you.
