Patch creation

Thu Jun 09, 2016 7:48 am

Hi,

I'm trying to create a patch. For this first try, I added/changed some files.

But I get the next error:

Error calling MSI API: 1627 Method: MsiViewExecute Table: ImageFamilies. Extended Error: 1: 2210 2: D:\cd_a3equipo\instalador-patch\a3equipo-patch.pcp 3: 3 .

Advanced Installer 13.0 build 70330

And i have no idea what that means.

Can you help me?

Thanks,
Arnau.

Hello Arnau,

I'm not sure why you got that error. In order to further investigate this, can you please send us a download link for the .MSIs that are used to create the patch to support at advancedinstaller dot com ?

Best regards,
Dan

Sent.

If it helps, the error is shown after at "Creating PCP database" message.

If it helps, the installer is an exe with the resources next to it (with a 1.2Gb cab file).

If it helps, there are no changes in the logic of the installer (no new dialogs, sql scripts,IIS configs); only file change and addition.

If it helps, there are 50Gb of free space on the drive where the patch is created (D: drive) and 15Gb on C: drive.

If it helps, both installers are signed with a valid SHA256 certificate

If it helps, both projects were created synchronizing folders.

Hello Arnau,

You should not use our synchronized folder support when creating patches. This support is not compatible with the patch creation process and is strongly advised that you should not use it in projects when building patches.

Thank you for your understanding.

All the best,
Daniel
