Adding merge modules now hangs

Hi, I'm using Advanced Installer 14.2.1.

My 32 bit AIP now hangs at the Adding merge modules section. This is directly related to the Windows 10 Creators Update 1703.

The steps to reproduce this are:

1. Create a new Professional AIP.
2. Add Visual Studio MSM and select the following:
- Visual C++ 12.0 CRT (x86)
- Visual C++ 12.0 MFC (x86)
- Visual C++ 12.0 MFCLOC (x86)
3. Add a simple 32-bit console app (really doesn't seem to matter what) to the Files and Folders: Application Folder.
4. Press build ... it then hangs indefinitely and the Advanced Installer process must be terminated with the task manager.

My version of Windows is: Windows 10 Pro N 64-bit (10.0, Build 15063)

I tested rolling the operating system back to the restore point before the 1703 update and the AIP no longer hangs.

I've attached the AIP.

Re: Adding merge modules now hangs

Hi and welcome to Advanced Installer forums.

I apologize for the delayed reply.

I tested the scenario you described with the project that you attached on a Windows 10 Creators Update 1703 machine, but I couldn't reproduce the problem. Can you reproduce it on multiple clean machines?
