Launch Condition Word 2007

Hi,

I've set a Launch Condition of "installed Office application: Word 2007", and it worked nicely for a few months.
However, we've encountered a case where a customer who has Word 2007 on her PC got an error message that the app can be installed only if Word 2007 and up is installed, and then quit.
What can cause this problem?

Thanks,

Re: Launch Condition Word 2007

Hello,

Advanced Installer uses a custom logic for implementing the search for previous installations needed for launch conditions. For example a search will be performed for a registry value that should be installed on the target machine. In Word 2007 case, the following registry value should exist:

Code: Select all

"HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\InstallRoot\Path"
In your case, it is possible that due to a corrupted intallation of the Word, the resource that the launch condition searches for to be missing from the target machine. In this case I would recommend a repair for the Word installation.
