Hello, we are having problems with the SQL Server 2012 prerequisite.
The problem occurs sometimes when the user accepts to download and install SQL Server, the installer show the ProgressPreRegDialog and do nothing. It stays for a while and continues with the installation, but SQL Server is not downloaded and not installed.
In the temp directories exists the file .part of SQL Server, means that the download starts.
If we restart the installer, the download fails again.
Usually it happens in Windows 10 but only sometimes.

Hello Guillermo,
This may happen if there really occurs an Internet connection problem during the prerequisite setup operation. In this case, if you did not UNCHECK the "Continue with the installation even if the prerequisite is not installed" option (from "Prerequisites" page -> "Properties" tab), then the installation will proceed further.
When such behavior occurs again, then please try to launch in the Internet Explorer browser the download link of your prerequisite setup and make sure it is successfully downloaded.
If you want the installation fail when the prerequisite is not installed, then uncheck the "Continue with the installation even if the prerequisite is not installed" option.

Hello Daniel, we had to desist and change to SQL 2014, we have too many problems with the SQL 2012, downloading and installing.
The last problem was: installs fine but don't create any instance, and we can't find why.

For any further problems you may encounter please try to isolate them into a small sample and send it us alongside a test case to follow to replicate and further investigate the issues.
