Installer renaming source files?

I've an installation issue with some users of my .msi program, who are finding a DLL missing when they go to run the installed program. One has mentioned that when he searched the system, they can't find my DLL (Dave.dll) but can find Dave2.dll.

I've then looked into the msi file (using 7zip), and sure enough it has Dave2.dll in there, not Dave.dll. My source file is definitely Dave.dll. It appears that AI is renaming Dave.dll to Dave2.dll on compiling the .msi file, but during installation a small number of users get Dave2.dll installed, rather than Dave.dll.

Has anyone else seen this? Is there something I can do?

This user has tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times with no joy.

Thanks

Re: Installer renaming source files?

Hello Mike,

I am not sure why you are encountering this behavior. In order for me to further investigate this, can you please send me the .aip (project file) and a "verbose log" of the installation by e-mail at support at advancedinstaller dot com?
