Text labels vanish mysteriously when pressing the tab button

Hi,

I have found a strange issue in all my dialogs which have static text fields inside an group box item. When I press the tab-button to tab to the next text box field in the dialog the static text fields disappear. If I step back to the previous dialog and then back again the static text fields appear again. Static fields which are not inside a group box are not affected. Is this a bug in AI? I have tried using bring to front/back but it doesn't help. Please advise.

I'm using Advanced Installer v15.5.1.

Hello Jan,

This, indeed, seems to be a strange behavior. I have tested this, but I was unable to reproduce this issue in a newly created project. Can you please send us a copy of your AIP file by e-mail at support at advancedinstaller dot com so I can further investigate this and try to isolate this behavior?

I have stripped down my project to only one dialog where the issue is reproducable. I have attached the Test.aip file.

It seems to me that something is corrupt in the project file itself causing this to happen. When I export the dialog to a repository and import to another project it works.

I have tested this with your sent project, and indeed I was able to replicate this problem.

As for this moment, I am not sure why this is happening.

Please give me some more time to investigate this and I'll come back to you when I have a proper answer.

Hello Jan,

First of all, thank you for your patience on this.

After further investigating this, this seems to be an issue in what regards the text style used by the GroupBox control (in your case, "DlgFontBold8"). A workaround to this would be to use the default text style for the GroupBox control (you can leave the text style changed for the controls inside your GroupBox - e.g. the static texts).

Workaround: To change the text style for your control(s), you can go to "Dialogs" page, click on the "TestSqlServerInstance" dialog, click on the "GroupBox" control and then, on the right pane, under "Text Styles", click on the drop-down button and then select "<default text style>".

Also, I have forwarded this to the development team and hopefully it will be fixed in a future version of Advanced Installer.

Also, as a side note, because I forgot to mention this in my last post, please be aware that in the project that you have sent me, the controls (Modify, Remove and Repair) from your "MaintenanceTypeDlg" are somehow out of order. To check this, you can go to "Dialogs" page --> under "Maintenance" --> "MaintenanceTypeDlg".

I wonder if my issue is similar: On our InstallDlg, when hitting enter the "Next" Button disappears and there is no way to get it back. We are currently on 14.5.2 build 83143.
