Issues installing Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 2017

Hi,

Using Advanced Installer, I was not able to do a silent install of Microsoft SQL Server 2017 - I built the installer to install it with UI. The next step for me was to install the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 2017 - I ran it once to test the silent installation of Management Studio manually. It installed fine. Using the same command, I added it to be installed using the Advanced Installer. Though the SQL Server Management studio got installed, Advanced installer displayed the status to be failure. So updated my installer to install it with UI. The installation of SQL Server management studio was successful, but still the Advanced Installer project says Installation failed.

I do not know how to fix it using Advanced Installer.

Hello László,

Well, the first step here would be to identify how one can check if SQL Server Manangement Studio is installed on a machine outside of Advanced Installer.

After doing so, a criteria should be created for that prerequisite in "Prerequisites" page --> your prerequisite --> "Install Conditions" tab --> "Install Conditions" section:
