Updater issue, pleaase help

I am having some trouble with how the updater works, this is my scenario:

The installer that controls my installation downloads the files and extracts them, so no files are actually in the installer.

The updater is checking for updates prior to the installation.

I upload a dummy test file to Dropbox and use the URL inside of the Updater as well as pointing to the new installer that I just created.

Where am I going wrong?

1. I create a new installer by changing the build version details in the installer and build the file.
2. I go back to the Updater and see that the build changed from 1.0 to 2.0 for example.
3. I generate the text file.
4. I upload the new text file and installer.
5. When I run the installer from 1.0 it doesn't detect there was a change.
6. If I try and run the check for updates, that file doesn't even run.

Where did I go wrong?

I'm not sure why the updater does not work for you. Can you please send me the .AIP (main project file) and the Updates Configuration project to support at advancedinstaller dot com, so I can investigate them?
