Localized installer not working on 16.2 & 16.3

We have work with AI 14.5 in previous release and the translation feature was working correctly, now exploring to move into a later version we detected an issue on version 16.2 & 16.3 regarding the translations.

Steps:
1. Generate a new project (or one existing) 32/64bit to obtain an EXE
2. On translations tab:
a. Add at least one language (ex French)
b. Options: Choose to generate a multilingual package
c. User interface language: Automatically use current user language for installation
4. Build
5. Set Windows (Win10) to French
6. Run EXE installer

Expected: Installer displays all text in French
Actual: Installer is in English in most cases or sometimes displays the language chooser

We tried:
1. Migrating an old project (14.5) to either 16.2/16.3 with no success
2. Creating a new installer project directly under 16.3/16.2 with no success
a. Display installer in English
b. After select the option "Display selection dialog" this never goes away

This issue will prevent us moving forward on the AI IDE.

Hello Christian,

Thank you for the detailed test-case.

I have tested this and I was indeed able to reproduce the behavior. To be fully honest with you I can not say for sure why this occurs.

I have forward this to our development team. As soon as I will have an answer from them, I will let you know.

Also, I will update this thread when this issue will be fixed. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Until then, I am afraid that the only workaround would be to use the "Display language selection dialog (for multi-language packages)" option or to stick with the 14.5 version of Advanced Installer.

This issue has been fixed in Advanced installer 16.6, released on December 12th, 2019.
