Switching from Single EXE to Single MSI build

Hi,

I have an .aip file, for which I've been using a "Single EXE setup" until now. When I switch to "Single MSI" and build the installer, it does not react when I press the "Install" button - nothing happens. In addition it shows 0KB instead of the real size.

Are there any other changes needed if I want to switch the installation type from EXE to MSI in order to get it working?

Thanks,
Dinko

Hi there,
How do we get support on this issue? We've been long term AI users (licensed), no issues so far.
What is the recommended way to get professional help for AI issues?

Thanks,

Re: Switching from Single EXE to Single MSI build

Hi Dinko and welcome to our forums.

Sorry for the delayed reply. We had some days off here last week and did not get the chance to answer to your post.

Do you use the "Classic" theme for your package or another one? Any theme other than the "Classic" one requires the "Enhanced User Interface" feature to be enabled which is handled by our EXE Bootstrapper, but not by the MSI package. The Enhanced User Interface option can be found in the "Themes" page, "Settings" tab.

If you want to have an MSI package, you need to use the "Classic" theme, the only one compatible with an MSI package.

Thanks Eusebiu! That was the problem indeed - I switched to the Classic theme and the MSI build succeeded and installed without problems.

Happy holidays and successful new year from me with some delay :-)
