V17.0 Extension failure

Using VS 2019 Since installing Advanced Installer 17.0 I get this error when loading a solution or trying to save an aip project.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the extension, without any success.

Hello David,

I have tried reproducing this, but unfortunately to no avail.

In order for me to further investigate this, could you please give me some more details about the steps you are taking in order to reproduce this issue (a test-case which I could follow would be really useful here)?

For instance, prior to our version 17.0 of the Advanced Installer Extension, did you have any other versions installed (meaning that you performed an update) or was it a "first-time install"?

Hello (again),

In addition to the above thread, it would also be helpful if you could run Visual Studio with the /log parameter and send us that log so we can further investigate it, e.g.:

I cannot get that to work.
This error only happens on large solutions, say 50 or so. When clicking "edit in Advanced Installer" in the aip project the extension crashes. After that the extension no longer works for any project until VS is restarted. The project always works in Advanced Installer standalone.

Thank you for your followup on this.

I have tried to reproduce this, but unfortunately to no avail.

Can you please send us your VS solution (SLN file) and all of the project files it includes (only the project definition files without the source code files) by e-mail at support at advancedinstaller dot com so we can test and investigate this on our end?

I have done this and everything worked as expected. Is there anything else to it that maybe you forgot to mention?

Also, are you able to reproduce this on multiple machines, or is it specific to your developer machine?

If I try to build the aip project from within VS2019 I get the following error:

If I click the blue button Edit in Advanced Installer I get a message "Failed to save project changes".
I tried 2 other pcs with exactly the same errors.
If I try to make a new setup project and add the project references the same errors occur.

I can edit and save the project in Advanced Installer fine, no errors and the project installs and runs fine. Just that the VS Extension fails on larger projects.
