How do i preserve registry entries?

Hello

I know there is a lot of similar questions and I've read and followed all of them but i had no luck.
I need help to preserve my registry keys when upgrading. I've tried to enable 'presistence' on its registry key and set the condition to 'OLDPRODUCTS', but it still removes it on upgrade. By the way 'Delete (if present) at uninstall' is also disabled.

I've followed the documentation as well, but nothing seems to do the trick..

Any suggestions?

Re: How do i preserve registry entries?

Hello and welcome to our forums,

I have tested this and everything worked as expected at my end - the key was preserved during an upgrade by using the "Preserve key content" option with the "OLDPRODUCTS" condition.

The only thing I can think of is the search performed, e.g.:
regSearch.png

Please make sure that the search is correct in your case. For instance, if your package is of 32-bit and the OS where you are installing is of 64-bit, the registry entries will be redirected under the WOW6432Node.

If that does not help, could you please forward me the following:

- a copy of an .AIP file which reproduces this behavior

- a test-case which I can follow in order to reproduce the issue based on your .AIP file
