Running app as Windows service

At the end of the install of an Electron app, I also added an entry in the Windows Job Scheduler, and this ran the app. I have been asked to change this to run as a Windows Service and it appears as user SYSTEM and not the local logged-on user - I can not get information such as user idle time anymore. It would not be relevant to define the service on each machine with the local user credentials - has anyone come across this kind of problem? I would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you.

Re: Running app as Windows service

Hello and welcome to our forums,

I've done some research on this matter (as I was not aware of this) and it looks like this is the normal behavior (based on this StackOverflow thread).

Unfortunately, I am not aware of any method in which this can be achieved (i.e. getting such information from within an application that runs under the SYSTEM account). However, from what I could see, there are some provided solutions in the above linked thread.

Hope this helps somehow!

Best regards,
