Advanced Installer extension in VS 16.8.2 fails

Upgrading to AI 17.7 has broken my integration into Visual Studio with VS complaining that the AIP project is incompatible. I have now tried upgrading VS to 16.8.2, uninstalling the extension, and going back to the marketplace to install again. VS complains that the existing project (AIP) is incompatible.

Workaround discovered.

Scenario. Had AI17.x installed along with VS 16.8.2 and the extension. Setup project is OK.
- Upgraded AI to 17.7.
- Open solution in VS and setup project fails to load as incompatible.

First attempted fix:
- Try to uninstall extension and reinstall from MS Store
- Same Result.

Successful fix:
- Open AI 17.7 and open AIP project. Apparently the project file is upgraded to a 17.7 version as there is a note that this happened and that it will be incompatible with older versions of advanced installer.
- save AIP file.
- Open VS and project now loads.

So clearly, the new extension for 17.7 is incompatible with the old format. Life would be much simpler if it were.
