Application icon missing sometimes in add/remove programs

Hi,

We see from time to time that the application icon doesn’t always show up in Windows add/remove programs after being installed. Any idea of why this is happening?

It’s seen on different windows server versions.

Unfortunately, I can not really say why this is happening.

In order for me to further investigate this, could you please forward me the following resources:

- a copy of your .AIP File

- a download link for the setup

- a test-case

by e-mail at support at advancedinstaller dot com?

Additionally:

- is this issue reproducing on a clean machine?

- have you been able to track down a possible pattern? (maybe something the machines that this reproduces on have in common)

- does, for instance, a restart of that machine fix the issue?

Hi Catalin,

I have tracked this down to the following folder:

C:\Windows\Installer\{<GUID>}

The GUID is some identifer, not sure if it's the product ID or some other ID. Beneath that folder are the icons, named as .exe files. If they are missing the icons are gone. So they were probably deleted by the customer. We can close this case.
