Service executablepath not updated on upgrade

We recently changed the name of the executable in one of our services, but when upgrading, the service's executable path still points to the old exe file.

It works fine when installing for the first time on a new machine, though.

We're supposed to point to "Logis.VCP.Server.exe" instead of "LiteServer.exe".

I've had a look over the provided .AIP and log files, but I could not see anything wrong in them.

If possible, could you please forward me the following resources:

- a download link of the older setup + the .AIP file used to build it

- a download link of the newer setup

by e-mail at support at advancedinstaller dot com so I can further investigate this?

Additionally, could you please give me some more details about this? Where have you noticed this behavior? Did you notice it when looking in the Service Manager ("services.msc")?

I have had a look over the sent project files and it looks like you have sent the same project.

The 2 .AIP files have the same version and the same ProductCode.

The ProductCode property of your (newer) setup, according to the provided log file, is:

while the ProductCode of the .AIP file you have provided is:

Code: Select all

{D5E099D1-6F0D-4A4E-A2AE-20781CFE8134}

Could you please double check this and send me the correct project files (old and new). Additionally, could you please also send me a download link for your setups (old and new) so I can test this behavior on my end?

i kept the product code in the hope that I would update the executable path rather than have to get rid of an old service manually.
