How to create Desktop Shortcut to external program

Need to create shortcut to a program that already exists.

Here's my screen image of what I've tried but it doesn't work.
What am I missing?

Re: How to create Desktop Shortcut to external program

Hello Lee,

In order to achieve what you want, we will firstly need to know the path to the executable.

For instance, let's consider I have an executable in the following location (similar to yours):

Code: Select all

C:\Program Files (x86)\Techinline\Remote Desktop\sample.exe
If i want to create an external shortcut to that, the "Shortcut Target" would look something as it follows:
externalShortcut.png
externalShortcut.png (111.36 KiB) Viewed 1553 times

For more information about the [ProgramFiles] property, please refer to the following article:

Paths of the folders in the "Files and Folders" Page

Hope this helps!
