[USR_LOCAL_SERVICE] resolves to LOCALSYSTEM

Wed May 26, 2021 3:19 pm

However when I use [USR_LOCAL_SERVICE] as the username for a Windows Service the service is installed as LOCALSYSTEM.

If I install the same service with NT AUTHORITY\Local Service as the username it installs correctly as NT AUTHORITY\Local Service.

Is this a bug?

Should [USR_LOCAL_SERVICE] resolve to the local service (or is this a badly named variable for LOCALSYSTEM)?

There doesn't seem to be much information about these built in usernames.

Thanks,

Dave

Hello Dave,

From what I can see, my colleague Dan has answered your ticket over the email.

Please let me know if there is anything else I could help you with.
