Done Adding Additional Store Error

Hi

I have the latest version of Advanced Installer and a SafeNet EV signing dongle. I have previously been able to sign this perfectly fine. But today, I get this error when building the package:

The digital signing of the ProgramFiles64Folder\MoleAntDiscover\MoleAntDiscover.exe file failed. Error message: 'Done Adding Additional Store
Error information: "Error: SignerSign() failed." (-2146893792/0x80090020)
SignTool Error: An unexpected internal error has occurred.
This is an unknown "signtool.exe" error!

Hello and welcome to our forums,

As you can see, Advanced Installer uses a third party tool offered by Microsoft (SignTool) in order to sign the resources of a setup package.

Unfortunately, I can not say for sure why that error occurs, because there may be multiple causes.

Using the SignTool.exe, are you able to sign the setup package outside of Advanced Installer, or you encounter the same error?

Hello Herwig and welcome to our forums,

Until @stripecat answers this (if he does), please have a look over my answer above.

As mentioned, for signing purposes, we use a 3rd party tool offered by Microsoft (signtool.exe). To further investigate this, you can try to sign your file outside of Advanced Installer and based on the received error, you can have a look over the following article:

SignTool.exe (Sign Tool)

or similar articles that describe the error codes of that specific tool.
