Update needs Admin after AI 14.5.1 to 19.2 upgrade

Hi,

we install per machine and update with service.
Updating our application with AI 14.5.1 worked for years now without entering admin credentials (already elevated by service).
After upgrading AI to 19.2 the update dialog asks for admin credentials unexpectedly. We could not find any issue in our project files. After entering it once, updates do not ask for credentials again. Is this expected behavior or a bug as mentioned here viewtopic.php?f=2&t=50131 ? when can we expect a bugfix? what's the most recent version we can use instead of 19.2?

We changed code signing from token to azure key vault hsm; but this shouldn't be an issue since we do not enforce same certificate in AI project.

My logfile here (I stopped at the step I needed to elevate) : https://intactconsult-my.sharepoint.com ... A?e=jQIkpU

Re: Update needs Admin after AI 14.5.1 to 19.2 upgrade

Hi,

Please keep in mind that as mentioned at the end of the "How to handle updates without elevation" article, when the support service is used to install updates without elevation, the same certificate (or a new certificate with the same Subject) must be used, otherwise the UAC will prompt for admin credentials.

If you want to use a different certificate, you need to perform the migration as described in the "How to install only digitally signed update packages" article.

Hi,

thanks a lot. I thought that it is equal, but there is a small change in Subject of new certificate.
