Version number inconsistency in the .aip file

Thu Aug 25, 2022 2:47 pm

Dead Advanced Installer Support Team,

Could you please take a look at the attached image? What do you think why I have that inconsistency in the version numbers? I wanted to fix it but I don't see 6.0.2 anywhere in Advanced Installer if I open up the .aip. Should I just fix it "manually" in the .aip file by opening it e.g by Notepad? Is that a valid fixture too?

Best regards,
Zsolt

Hello Zsolt,

I am not quite sure why that is happening.

Have you added the prerequisite manually to your project? As I can see, in our latest version of Advanced Installer, only .NET Desktop Runtime 6.0.8 is available.

I have added it in a new project and upon checking the .AIP file with Notepad++, the version is correct.

Could you please check the file path to see if it points to the right executable?

- "Prerequisites" page

- "Setup Files" tab --> "File path"

Hope this helps!

Best regards,

Dear Catalin,

After I re-saved the .aip file (opened the prerequisite tab, checked the executable which seemed to be correct, and saved the project) it seems that TargetName section of the xml was automatically fixed, so now the version numbers are NOT inconsistent. So probably we are done.

To be honest, I still don´t know why I saw those inconsistent version numbers. Obviously I did not modify the .aip manually.

Best regards,
Zsolt
