Access Violation - Move Custom Action

Hi,

I encounter an access violation fairly repeatedly (stack and message shown below) in AI 20.0. It's fairly easy to reproduce for me:

1. Created a new project
2. Added a custom action VBS call.
3. Copied that custom action.
4. Paste that custom action several time.
5. Move the custom action numerous times, and fairly soon you'll get the error.

Below is the stack trace.

I could provide my AIP file, but I don't think it's necessary to reproduce using these steps.

Tim

Re: Access Violation - Move Custom Action

Hello Tim,

I have tried reproducing this on my end, but I'm afraid I was not able to do so.

If possible, could you please be more concise about the steps?

Or even better, could you please showcase this in a video (this would greatly help me) and forward that video to me?

Best regards,
Catalin

Re: Access Violation - Move Custom Action

Hi Catalin,

Last week I could easily reproduce this issue. For some odd reason, today I tried several times, and it never encountered an Access Violation error once.

If it happens again, I'll try and figure out what preconditions are necessary to reproduce it. It could just be the duration of use, since last week I was actively working on the installer and this week I'm not. If it does happen again, I'll also try to capture a video of the steps and share it.

Hello Tim,

One of my colleagues managed to reproduce this issue.

This actually happens if you previously were on the "Dialogs" page and then move to the "Custom Action" page.

My colleague opened a ticket and the issue was already fixed. It will be available in our next release.

Best regards,
Catalin
