Compile error because signtool.exe thrown error

Wed Nov 23, 2022 11:56 am

I am using Advanced Installer v 16.2
After last Windows update new error occured during signing:
The digital signing of the Logic.dll file failed. Error message: 'SignTool Error: No file digest algorithm specified. Please specify the digest algorithm with the /fd flag. Using /fd SHA256 is recommended and more secure than SHA1. Calling signtool with /fd sha1 is equivalent to the previous behavior. In order to select the hash algorithm used in the signing certificate's signature, use the /fd certHash option.
How to fix this error?

Hello Sergey,

This has been a Windows issue which we worked around starting with version 17.9 of Advanced Installer.

With that being said, the solution for this would be to use a newer version of Advanced Installer (>17.9).
