Updater Leaves Application Uninstalled - Error 1603

I have been trying to figure out this auto update thing and have been unable to get a successful upgrade.

A little background. This application is basically the foundation for the automation on these deployed machines. The entire installation and management of the software should be completely autonomous.

I was looking at using the service option, but have been unable to get successful results.

The program should check for updates every night at midnight.

Re: Updater Leaves Application Uninstalled - Error 1603

Hello,

According to the log file, it looks like the installation indeed failed.

The cause of this is the creation of your scheduled task:
MSI (s) (A0!3C) [22:03:41:593]: Product: FRED Manager -- Error 4106. An error was encountered while creating a scheduled task: 'Configure Machine.job'. Error description: No mapping between account names and security IDs was done.

Error 4106. An error was encountered while creating a scheduled task: 'Configure Machine.job'. Error description: No mapping between account names and security IDs was done.

CustomAction AI_ScheduleTasks2 returned actual error code 1603 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)
For more information about this, please have a look over the following FAQ:

Why the installation fails with the "No mapping between account names and security IDs was done" error?

Hope this helps!
