Product Details - Version ?

Until now I always used Advanced Installer 17.9.
I use only 'Installer Project' Simple.

Recently I installed the latest version 20.8.
The problem is that in the 'Product Details' tab I can no more dynamicaly retrieve the product version from a file (.exe).
How can it be done in version 20.8 ?

Hello Etienne,

That happens because our "Set version" mechanism was changed in Advanced Installer version 19.2.

We added the dynamic content support for the ProductVersion property. Also, now major upgrades are possible by default when using the fourth field in the ProductVersion.

That feature now uses the DynamicPropety mechanism which unfortunately is available starting with Professional edition. That is why you cannot see the Browse button anymore in a "Simple" project.

Unfortunately, if you want to keep the "Set version from file" functionality you have to use the 19.1 version or you can just manually update the version.

I downloaded AI 19.1 from the link you gave. Thanks.

I will try several options : using 19.1 with automatic version setting
or : using newer AI version and set the version manually.
