Rename Identifier from folder properties

Hi,

I currently rename the "Identifiers" of our folder at "Files and Folders" page to specific schema (helpfull for the Insallation-Log).
Sometimes I can't rename folders identifier, because I think there are references to other files.
Now I want search for this references from a selected file or folder, but how?
On this site I read http://www.advancedinstaller.com/user-g ... -pane.html ... context menu, [ Search References ] or press F12.
I don't can see the entry, and if I press F12 the "Project Summary" opens...

What do I wrong?

Info: I use the latest version 11.8 of AI
Current Version of AI: 16.5

Re: Rename Identifier from folder properties

Hi,

Indeed, some identifiers cannot be renamed. This is not allowed for the default folders and for the folders that are referenced in other places of the project.
On this site I read http://www.advancedinstaller.com/user-g ... -pane.html ... context menu, [ Search References ] or press F12.
I don't can see the entry, and if I press F12 the "Project Summary" opens...
When you try to delete a file or a folder that is referenced somewhere in the project, a "References" pane will display a list with the references of the items that you tried to delete. On that pane you can select an item and use the "Search Reference" context menu option or press the "F12" keyboard button to search where that item is referenced.

Hi,

thank you for your answer.
But is there any functionality where I can search for references for file/folder other then try to delete them?

Re: Rename Identifier from folder properties

Hi,

I'm afraid that we do not have support for this, but I added this improvement on our TODO list and it will be available in a future version of Advanced Installer. Thank you for your suggestion.
