Global Properties problems

I'm using Global Properties, and they were working. After i upgraded to 9+, i can't get them to work. They keep reverting back to their default values. I have dialogs that have code to change their values based on what the user selects in the dialogs. The properteis are all uppercase.

I was trying to use properties as conditions to install a feature or not. I found an example on the forum using vbscript to turn the features on or off.
