Hi,

Another powerful new feature included in version 11.5 is our support to automatically run an installation into a VM.

Check out the Test in VM video to see how it works.

Hi,

Here is a cool feature of Advanced Installer that you might not know of. It's our support to test the installation UI.
Give it a try and you'll see how much time it will save you.

Hi,

Did you ever needed to install two files with the same name in the same location? For example localized user guide, graphics, dictionaries, etc.
The above linked video shows how you can do this - in about 1 minute.

Hi,

Starting with AI version 11.6 you can now pin shortcuts on the taskbar.

“With great power comes great responsibility”, so this feature should be used wisely. For software vendors Microsoft recommends strictly NOT
to pin shortcuts on the taskbar or start menu as this is an action reserved only for the end users installing your application.

However, if you are a packager/sys admin and your job is to prepare an OS image from head to tail, including pinned shortcuts, then this feature is for you.
Check out the video linked in the beginning to see how easy it is to pin your shortcuts.

Hi,

In case you did not know, Advanced Installer allows you to add notes in the project, so you can easily collaborate with your colleagues.

This feature is also very useful if you work rarely in the setup project, and need to remember why exactly you configured the project like this later one when you come back on it.

Yes! I found that out and really appreciate it.

It was a request I once had back in 2009, http://www.advancedinstaller.com/forums ... f=1&t=9551and at that time I was told by Gabriel Barbu it was already on the TODO list.

It is really a very helpful feature, especially:
1. on larger projects,
2. or as you say, on projects which are not worked on often, returning months later to it and wondering why something was done a certain way
3. when others work on the same project.
4. Documenting changes
5. etc.

Just as useful as adding comments to lines of code.

Great feature!

Thank you!

clint

<edit> Actually, it's much, much better than just adding comments to lines of code ;-)

Hi Clint,

Sorry, maybe I am not understanding correctly. But I don't understand for what should we make a video?
The notes support video we have is linked in my last post.
