Greetings,
i'm looking for a to create a package which will copy files to the desktop of the public user, which will then copy to ALL users desktops, the problem i have is that a user cannot remove the icon from the desktop as they dont have admin rights on the machine and the desktop shortcut is pointing to the public desktop not the actual users desktop.

My question is can i create a package which will dump something onto the desk for EVERY user but also give them the ability to delete the file if not needed? If we use the public / desktop option and the user is able to delete it then it will delete for ALL users which is not what i want.

Any advise would be great

You can try using the built-in support from Windows Installer for MSI self-healing.
