Install succeeds but kernel driver does not install

Hi,

I have an interesting problem... for two different clients where our installer ran... the installer failed to install the Kernel mode driver.

I have attached the install logs hoping you can shed some light on ANY thing that can point us as to why the driver failed to install.

Hello Mike,

I am afraid I cannot find anything useful in the log file. Accordingly to the log file the "Driver_Install" custom action exit successfully and so the installation process.

Can you try to manually launch the Setupapi.dll -> InstallHinfSection function and see if the driver successfully installs on those machines?

Thank you for your technical review of the log files - much appreciated.

I cannot, as these are client machines out of our office. (non technical people on the other end)

I will just have to chalk this one up as "mysterious failure" and move on.
