How to stop/start service at the beginning/end of installation?

Hi,

I'm new to Advanced Installer tool.
I need to stop a specific service at the beginning of the installation (before files and reg keys are installed), and then start the same service in the end of installation (after my installation is done). My installer does not install this service. It is a third party service that my installer depends on.

I'm having troubles making it work properly in Custom Behavior > Custom Actions. My "StopService" and "StopService" need to be in the different Installation Sequence at Install and Uninstall in the Install Execution Stage. But I can't make it in right order.

Any info is appreciated.

Hello and welcome to our forums,

You should schedule your stop service custom action before the "Install Execution Stage-> Preparing" action group and the start service custom action after "Install Execution Stage -> Finish Execution" action group.
