Adobe reader installer using WPP and AI

Tue Mar 26, 2019 3:32 pm

Basically i'm using windows package publisher and i use advanced installer for building my msi. I tried to convert an exe file (setup.exe adobe reader latest version) to an msi using AI. It works but the problem is that i get in program and functionality 2 separate things. One is the installation of adobe reader the other one the package name that give me to possibility to automatically uninstall if needed. So if i uninstall the package it doesn't uninstall adobe reader. I know i'm close to a solution but i can't figure it out. Help me thank you !

Hello,

If you are using our EXE to MSI feature, then to avoid registering 2 control panel entries you can proceed like this:

1. go to "Product Details" page of your setup project
2. uncheck the "Register product with Windows Installer" option
3. rebuild and test again the installation scenario

All the best,
