Windows 10 Start Menu Pin Removed on Update

Seems that I'm having an issue where during the process of an update (done via the built in updater.exe and a service) removes my pinned start menu tile. I use the built in shortcut options to generate the shortcut that I have pinned. What do I need to change to retain that pin?

I am afraid we do not have any built in option to preserve during an upgrade a shortcut pinned to Start Menu nor I am aware how could you achieve this behavior.
