Re: AppData\Roaming

Hello Catalin,

that's exactly what I am doing. I double checked once again on a new Windows 10 machine and the behavior was still the same.
The only option I see is to add a "delete folder" action at the end of the setup, but I think Advanced Installer should be able to produce a "clean installation" without putting unnecessary empty folders in there.

Did you maybe try a different operating system?

Re: AppData\Roaming

Hello Simon,

This is quite strange, indeed.
Did you maybe try a different operating system?
No, my tests were also done on a Windows 10 machine (version 1909).

I have now reopened the issue regarding this so the developer can have another look at it.

A question, though, as I have noticed something different between the setups you provided (the one where the issue reproduces and the one where it doesn't). Are you testing the exact same setup you sent me?

In the first setup you have sent (where the issue reproduces), I noticed there is a prerequisite for SQL Server, while in the second one (where I can no longer reproduce), there isn't.

Re: AppData\Roaming

Hello Catalin,

as far as I know, I have always sent you the same setup version. The AIP file contains two build definitions, once including an SQL Server setup and one not. However, I have always been trying to install the version without SQL Server and the empty folders keep appearing...

Maybe it would be easier if we could have a Teamviewer session or something like this?
Best regards,

Simon

Re: AppData\Roaming

Hello Simon,

I have asked the question above more out of my own curiosity and to double check this with you.

I have already managed to reproduce the issue with the setup you have provided and have forwarded this to our development team.

Now I am waiting for them to start investigating this.

I will let you know once I have any useful information from them.

Best regards,
Catalin

Re: AppData\Roaming

Hello Simon,

This is still on our developer's TODO list of investigations.

Unfortunately, I do not have any update for now.

I will update this thread as soon as I will have one.

Re: AppData\Roaming

Hi everyone,

any updates on this issue? I have the same problem and wanted to add the AICloseAllHandles property in the Install Parameters page as suggested by Catalin, but I fail to find where the property should be added, my page looking like this:

and my AppData\Roaming\company_name folder like this:

Re: AppData\Roaming

Hello,

As previously mentioned, this issue has been fixed in version 18.9 of Advanced Installer.

Additionally, the properties have now a designed page for them, named "Properties" page.

Could you please let me know what version of Advanced Installer your are using?

Best regards,
Catalin
