Check out the new reports from Installer Analytics, now you can see how many users install your application (not just how many installations occur),
along with the upgrades and uninstalls for the existent users.

More new reports will be coming up in the next months.

As promised, more reports coming up for Installer Analytics. Now you can check per-version installations, how many fail and what fails, as well as environment information (RAM, OS, screen size, etc...)

The reports are looking good. But it would be great if they could be more detailed.
For example the geo report could go down to province.

it would also be interesting to me if the environment report could be enhanced with a cpu class

I know how much ram is in the pc, but the speed would also be good to know. Maybe that we doesn't get too many details we can say - i3 - 3rd generation, i7 - 4th generation. The clock speed is too detailed for the first sight. but I could think of a drill down.

greetings
Andreas

Hi Andreas,

Just to let you know, the Geo reports now supports drill down to region/city.

We've also added the Software report, but for the moment contains the most requested/used software, like JRE. Office, .NET version etc...
If more requests like yours (CPU, etc..) come we will include this in a future version.

Bogdan

I had a quick question on the User Base report. The total users on mine is 3100, but the sum of the users per version is over 5600. Can you explain that to me? I would expect as users update to a new version they would go down or is this the result of the max number of users per version in the reported time frame (my case is one month)?

Hi Scott and welcome to Advanced Installer forums.

I apologize for the delayed reply.

I''m not sure how this problem appears. Can you send us the email address related to your Analytics account to support at advancedinstaller dot com, so we can check and see if there is any issue with your account?

Best regards,
Eusebiu

Hi Scott,

Indeed, this seems to be an Advanced Installer issue which will be fixed in a future version of Advanced Installer.

The problem appears because during the patch installation, the old version is not uninstalled, hence it is not counted down by the analytics application.

Eusebiu

Has there been any updates on this? I am not seeing the old version to be detected as uninstalled when an upgrade is made with automatic updates.

Hi,

Yes, the patch problem was fixed in version 3.3 of the Installer Analytics released on March 21, 2017. Do you upgrade your product with patches or with major upgrades? Do you upgrade your product silently without elevation?

Best regards,
Eusebiu

So we just pushed a new full install of our product and we are seeing the uninstalls of the last version reported, but the new 8.5.0 installs are not showing up. This full install was built with 15.7 of AI. Any steps we can use to debug why our analytics is not showing the new version?

Hello,

First of all, I apologize for the delayed reply.

I am not sure why this happens.

In order for me to further investigate this, could you please forward me, by e-mail at support at advancedinstaller dot com, either your application ID or the e-mail address used to register the application?

All the best,
Catalin

Just an FYI but current theory is if you install a full install with the updater run as a service and you have it only enabled to send stats if the user clicks yes to consent the analytics do not get sent. If you run the same installer manually to update an installation the analytics to log.
