Executing Restore Operation

Wed Dec 19, 2018 9:40 am

Hi ,
I have made an installer that installs a site and configures IIS for it ,it installs within two minutes when it is a first time install ,but when it is an upgrade ,it takes around 20 minutes and most of it is when it gives me executing restore operation .
I have my upgrade order on install new version first then uninstall old version ,I wonder if there is anything I can do to increase its speed ,because 20 minutes is unacceptable ,I also have a back up CA using VBscript using "My.Computer.FileSystem.CopyDirectory()" ,could that somehow be the cause .
Thanks,
Abdul.

Hi Abdul,

I'm not sure why the upgrade takes that much time, but a backup operation can definitely cause this depending on the number and the size of the files that are backed up.

In order to have a better view please send me the .AIP (project file) and a verbose log of the upgrade to support at advancedinstaller dot com, so I can investigate them?
